New Electric SUV 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is announced by the luxury car division of GM. Well, the Cadillac has lately been gearing up for the electric run. So in this article, we shall see how Cadillac stacks up against the competition with this new electric SUV.

New Electric SUV Performance

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is not as fast as its competitors but surely it’s faster than its ICE counterparts. The Lyriq delivers 340 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. This is possible thanks to a single electric motor and a 12-module, 100-kWh battery pack. Eventually, Cadillac will introduce an all-wheel-drive version with a second drive motor for the front axle.

The Lyriq zooms from 0-60 mph in just 5.7 seconds and through the quarter mile in a generous 14.2 seconds at 100.5 mph. That’s way slower than many electric SUVs in the segment, the reason being single motor is used to do all the duty compared to other EVs offering dual motor setups. including the slowest Model Y, which needed 4.1 seconds to 60 mph and a 12.4-second quarter mile at 114.8 mph

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Specs

The new Electric SUV is claimed to have 300 plus miles of range with its 102 kWh battery pack. The said range is significantly higher as compared to Jaguar I-pace and Audi E-Tron they both die out before 250 Miles of Range. On the other hand, the Tesla Model X beats the new EV SUV with its 360 Mile range.

It takes about six hours with the home charger to charge the Lyriq and the new electric SUV can be juiced up for 76 miles in just 10 minutes with the DC Fast charger. As of now, the SUV is offered with a single motor as said earlier and the dual motor version is planned. As of now, the car has a rear-mounted motor capable of producing  340 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque.

New Electric SUV Features

Enhancing the Lyriq’s interior is a massive 33.0-inch central display. Resting elegantly atop the dashboard, this screen has the ability to emit more than 1 billion colors. The Lyriq also features a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system with headrest speakers.

Cadillac Lyriq didn’t limit the show to the interior. The Lyriq greets drivers with a digital light show, and the front lighting design is more elaborate than anything we’ve seen from the luxury car brand so far.

And on top of all the Super Cruise feature is the most exciting of all. When Super Cruise is engaged, it does a superb job of mimicking a human driver. There are several characteristics we look for when evaluating these systems, including lane centering, cornering behavior, traffic recognition and response, acceleration and braking inputs, lane changes, and the handover from computer control to the human driver.

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will offer Regen on Demand, which will offer flexibility for different electric-car driving styles. Drivers can change the amount of regenerative braking their Lyriq generates, and a paddle on the steering wheel can slow the car down. Depending on the situation and the SUV’s settings, you could even get the Cadillac to come to a complete stop, all without touching the brake pedal.

Interior and boot space

The Interiors are plush and premium of course as expected from the luxury brand name it carries with it. The knobs, switchgear display, google maps integration, comfortable front seats, and an incredibly spacious back seat and trunk.

The five-seat Lyriq offers 28.0 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, or 60.8 cubic feet with the seats folded. For context, the Audi E-Tron provides 28.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 56.5 cubic feet with the seats down.

Pricing and availability

Lyriq feels like a striking value at its $62,990 base model. Stellar to look at, good to drive, and generally easy to live with. The said price is for the Rear motor five-passenger 2023 Cadillac Lyriq 450 E. Sadly the availability of this new electric SUV is in the first half of 2023. The main competitors of the Lyriq shall be Audi-E-Tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Tesla Model X and Y.i hope you might have found this article informative and useful.
