Honda Prologue EV SUV made its first global debut ahead of its launch in 2024. The EV SUV is built on the Neo-Rugged design philosophy of Honda. It shares a lot of many underpinnings with Chevy Blazer EV.
The Honda Prologue will be positioned above the CR-V and it measures a length of 4,877 mm, a width of 1,643 mm, and has a wheelbase length of 3,094 mm – making it even longer overall while having a longer wheelbase compared to the Passport. Honda known for its clean design has made this car on the philosophy of its Neo-Rugged design in focus.
Honda Prologue Design
The Prologue design team seems to have taken design cues from Range Rover Evoque as specially for the back of the car. At first look at the car, I thought that this was a Range Rover vehicle. But the design does not look carried away at all and Honda’s Neo-Rugged design philosophy does not make the SUV look oversized or extravagantly bulky. Though the SUV is quite a sizable one Honda’s clean design had given the car the balanced look of a modern upgraded and solid SUV.
Honda Prologue Platform
Honda’s partnership with GM is one of the prominent factors in the development of this SUV. For any car, the platform is one of the major factors in the vehicle’s agility, performance, stability, and maneuverability. Honda has used the American Cramaker’s modular electric platform and Ultium battery technology. The same one is used in Chevy Blazer EV.
Range and specifications
Although no specifications from the company have been officially announced. The SUV shares a lot of underpinnings with the Chevy Blazer EV, we could expect similar models like that of the Blazer EV. It could be expected that similar to Blazer EV it could have a single motor mounted at the rear or at the front and a performance variant could have two motors to make it an AWD variant.
The SUV could have similar power and range figures, like a performance model to have a range of 290 Miles per charge, 557 Hp of combined front plus rear motors power, and 879 Nm of mind-bending torque. Whereas the single-motor variant could have a range of 360 Miles per charge
Exterior and Interior
Honda Prologue follows the same design elements and the signature honda styling. From bonnet to headlights and industry trend of stacking fog lamps vertically is incorporated in this 2024 EV SUV. The signature horizontal running bar of black material at the grill part of the front is found mostly in all recent Hondas may it be a city, accord, or any other Honda vehicle.
The car exterior as said sports backward trailing LED headlights with Honda signature DRLs and wrap-around rear taillights. The six-spoke alloy wheels are massive at 21 Inches and they enhance the macho character of the SUV further.
Whereas the interiors are pleasing and intuitive. The interior’s colors are inspired by mountain snow. The 11.3 Inch touch screen Infotainment system is accompanied by another 11 Inch car digital instrument cluster. Below the Infotainment system, the AC and blower control panel are housed. The Air vents of the AC system are sharp and sleek.
Price and Availability
As of now, there is no word on the pricing. The EV SUV shall be available by 2024. But as said earlier the Prologue shares a lot of underpinnings with the GM and hence we could expect similar pricing and models that of the Chevy Blazer EV. Honda has partnered with LG Chem for the manufacture of Lithium Ion cells in the United States for a range of electric vehicles to be manufactured in partnership with GM.
